My classmates had analyzed different types of privileges. Unfortunately many people are not willing to expose the blind truth behind an individuals privileges. With that my group surveyed each grade with the question in mind that "Which one of the four grades at High tech high felt the most gender discrimination. The truth about gender discrimination at High tech high can be reduced by relaying this information to faculty members and the student body. This project was very empowering to myself and my peers. With that I have learned that I can use my privilege to stop discrimination, stereotypes, and inequality.
During this project we explored the controversial topic: Ethics of Immigration. We had explored this subject by reading Micheal Sandel's book "Justice". In this book we learned new philosophies such as Utilitarianism, Libertarianism, Deontology, and Egalitarianism. We have discussed how philosophical topics relates to immigration ethics through seminars. Finally we had presented philosophical justifications by creating skits at our exhibition.
In Spanish class we covered Spanish 1 and 2. Through this we had recreated a Mexican game called "Loteria" and made personal altars for Day of the Dead. In the link these projects are discussed more deeply. I believe I have learned enough Spanish to properly converse with Spanish speaking people.
